Professional background introduction
Dr. Wei De is a professor of law and a graduate supervisor at a key university in Beijing. He obtained his Ph.D. in law from the University of Göttingen in Germany as a national government-sponsored scholar. He was also a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich, Germany. Dr. Wei De was funded by the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Program of the European Commission to attend the Master of Laws in Law and Economics (LL.M.) at the University of Hamburg in Germany, Ghent University in Belgium, and earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree from the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland. Before his academic career, he studied at the China Youth University for Political Sciences (now University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) and was awarded a Juris Master (J.M.) degree.
Dr. Wei has worked or interned at a municipal intermediate people's court in Beijing, a grassroots people's procuratorate in Beijing, and Tencent Research Institute. He holds a Chinese Law Qualification Certificate, a Patent Agent Qualification Certificate, and a Fund Practitioner Qualification Certificate. With long-term and profound research in civil and commercial affairs, intellectual property, and competition law, Dr. Wei is particularly skilled in the practice of antitrust and anti-unfair competition law as well as intellectual property.
